In the beautiful Wachau!

weddingwachauEvery single day of the last week had huge thunderstorms. The day before the wedding, parts of the Wachau were flooded, and an hour before it was raining cats and dogs.

But wow, all of a sudden the sun appeared and everything was just perfect. So once again we could have left those umbrellas which we bought on the last wedding at home - but shooting weddings in the sun o course is much more fun.

Instead of umbrellas, we used our biiiig new Sunbounce with translusent screen and the new heavy steel tripods. Man, are they heavy - but wearth every poind. The Sunbounce is an incredible thing - a surface of 48ft² and with our tripods we can lift it up to 21ft Yihaaaa. And the light it produces is no less than breathtaking. It takes the hardness out of the sunlight, but keeps the incredibly friendly mood. Look at more pictures from this shooting in our Weddingportfolio

Job from New York PDF Print E-mail

We are quite international...

greencoconut

But a job request from New York is still surprising. Aren´t there any photogs over there?

Employer is juicegeneration, a chain of stores selling healthy smoothies, fresh juices and gourmet sandwiches in New York. Yeeees, trust your eyes.
The management found one of our images in the internet and wanted to get a whole series of photos from their products.

Well, not really "their" products - of course we bought them here in Austria - wasn´t all that easy to get green Coconut, but Fruit Wholesaler Sedlacek was able to supply us with a box of these cool fruits. And more over we made some contacts - but that´s another story you´re going to read a little later...

Another challenge was to open the nuts without completely smashing them, and the next: they get brown just a few seconds after they are open. Here´s a little trick: use lemon.

A lighting stand for 3.700€ PDF Print E-mail

Now if anybody ever questions our rates again

Currently we are looking for two heavy steeltripods to use with our new Sunbounce Big. Guess what: there really are tripods for the above menioned price (www.gomediamonkey.com - I don´t want to allow myself to think how much these will cost in Europe - easily 30% more!!!). The ones we choose are much cheaper, but still far too expensive - for a tripod!!!

I can easily have a custom stand made for those prices. I guess not many of you would ever buy a camera for that amount. But that´s the life of the photographer.

During our career as photographers we hardly ever received a rejection after we sent our proposal, but those few who did reject our work should really read this blogpost ;-).

from the beaches of the Seychelles...

JavaScript is disabled!
To display this content, you need a JavaScript capable browser.
Slowly we are working down the queue of images and videos of the last 8 weeks.

One of our greatest projects ever was the one for Bernhard Resl´s Personal Physio website. Who would have ever thought that we are going to shoot photos and videos with a massage bed on beach. But who knows what the future will bring.

Last year for example we had a request from Germany. The emplyer wanted to get a specific image of a specific Clown Fish in a specific anemone in the specific amount of time (2 weeks). The only problem: That anemone is endemic to the Philippines. Believe it or not, that was an honest request. Unfortunately the time was too limited to get a flight and arrange everything on time. But nothing seems to be impossible, not even massage beds on tropical beaches.

So relax and listen to the music of Sayama Music Richard Hiebinger while watching the video. The ambient sound is from the forests and beaches of the Seychelles.

House advertising

habengeheiratetImpossible - so many blogposts, and I forgot to advertise one of our own products - I hope the millions of readers out there will ever apologize.

For all the wedding couples beyond our readers - or for those who need a wedding present: what about one of our wedding websites? - really great ones with blog and other features. Besides they even look good (you sure have seen all the other wedding websites out there ;-))

For wedding couples that choose us as photographers, this service is free - but all others are most welcome to book it extra. We have special discounts for registered blog users.

The special things are the domains: www.habengeheiratet.at und www.werdenheiraten.at
(translated that would mean: aremarried.at and aregoingtomarry.at) Before the wedding you can announce your wedding at e.g. meandyou.werdenheiraten.at, publish wedding list, directions and stuff - after the wedding meandyou.habengeheiratet.at will host your wedding photo album..

Both sites are very modern websites with Content Management System.

Conclusion: couples who book a wedding with us don´t only get great images, but also a wedding website!!!

finiAnd her  "Mom"...

...are repeating guests. Who would have thought that dogs (well, perhaps mainly female dogs) get a real feeling for the camera in time. Fini is now starting to pose in front of the camera - she´s getting better and better - and her mom is getting better images ;-).

Anyway dog photos in natural surrounding are all but easy. But who wants easy pictures - that´s just boring ;-).

NEW - 360° Panoramas PDF Print E-mail

Letting your view sweep!

It´s best you give it an immediate try - roll your mouse over the imge, click and drag.

We use our panoramic head from manfrotto now for quite a while, producing really big images up to 200 Megapixel. See more about them on our microsite www.morepixel.net - but now we had the time to use them intensively for so called virtual realities, or quick time virtual realities (qtvr).

How does that work? You have to shoot a row of single images with the panormaic head in special angles. Afterwards you combine them in a special software. It´s most important that the head is perfectly aligned to the lens you are using. Every lens has a special "nodal point" you have to consider. Otherwise you will never get a smooth transition between the single images.

So there is now one more piece of equipment that will guide us on our journeys - well 2kg more. Just in case you have problems with excess luggage, here is a tip: www.excessluggage.at.

You´ll find more panoramas in our dedicated gallery: 360° Panoramas.

Reducing the queue PDF Print E-mail

so less photoshootings these days

we still have retouch some images and process some videos from the time before we left to the Seychelles. The wather after our return from Egypt is just perfect for reducing the queue - 13°C - unbelievable!!!

In our office, computers are running hot. All the material has to be retouched, keyworded, uploaded. So we have to reduce the amount of photoshootings during these days. Being photographers doesn´t mean standing behind the camera these days. The much larger amount of work, unfortunately not the more enjoyable is done in post production.
