Great end of the week!!!
A jungle hike on Friday across the island with breathtaking views, and a wedding shooting on the beach on the last day. What an extraordinary location for a wedding.
It was the couples last day, and at noon it was still raining. But Suddenly the sky was showing it´s greatest blue! Fantastic!!!
More images from this shooting in our wedding portfolio.

Second week progress report.
La Digue Island Lodge. Very nice people, extremely helpful and cooperative – what a way to work!
Full time table here: photo, video, 360° views of the rooms. The weather is not as good as during the first week, but that´s the stressful job oft he travel photographer: sunny day ≠nice photoweather, because blue ≠blue.
Blue sky can be ugly bright. You better leave your camera packed then, because the sky should look natural and not retouched in Photoshop. And you know, time flies while you wait for good conditions.

is not available on the internet...
...too bad. Our shooting in the Kaffeerösterei Alt Wien was not only pretty interesting, but also a fragrant experience.
Shooting coffee is something special, even though I myself don´t drink coffee at all. Especially if you have an old roasting mashine, raw and roasted coffee all in one place, you feel like easter and christmas is finally on the same date. What a nice job do we actually have?

Four Austrians on the Seychelles
Bernhard from www.personalphysio.at urgently needs some therapy images.
Time before departure is pretty limited, so we asked him whether he wants to get some beach therapy images. You can imagine our facial expressions when he agreed! Very spontaneous, Bernie, both thumbs up – that sure will give us some outstanding images.
Especially because his girlfriend will accompany us and play the model part.

...when shooting...
...… when shooting, you might find yourself in the recording studio of a radio station. How on earth are we going to set the light – oh yes, exactly there. What a great background!
That we don´t take all the images straight as they are proofs the one to the left. Sometimes you can get much more out of an image retouching it, giving it a tint and some more contrast.
Usually we use effects are rather sparingly - we are no black&wite or sepia freaks leaving not a single image in its natural color. But if you need, we are well aware of many many photoshop tricks. You´d be surprised what´s possible.

If the client calls...
...we´ll go anywhere. Well – almost anywhere, but definitely to the Seychelles. Next week we´re starting out – with 110kg of luggage all together, puh!!!
Our website www.seychelles.cc did attract the La Digue Island Lodge and Silhouette Cruises, and now we have to stay and shoot one week in the hotel, and one week on a sailing cruise.
But what sounds like a dream come true for most others is also a quite hard job for us, because we sometimes have to shoot a whole day at 34°C in the shade and 90% humidity. Think about it before you wish us a nice „vacation“ next time!!!
In order to make the journey even more successful for us, we added a week prior to the contract work. That way we can get used to the climate and gather some more material for the long planned DVD about the Seychelles.

many Legs...
...because image databases don´t accept images with faces as long as we can´t deliver a model release. So either we cut the heads, or we gather the releases - I´m pretty confident that nobody taking part at a marathon will ever sell a release.
After the shooting the hard work really starts. You have to retouch all of teh logos - you can never imagine how many logos you´ll find of four pairs of legs. That exponentially increases the time it takes until you have one single sellable image.
Being a stock photographer (stock agencies are image databases) you have to take all opportunities to gather images - a marathon with perfect weather, a firework, rain, a concert,...
But even more important than that are shootings with characters - Family, Business, Sports,... If you ever get interested in being part of a shooting, just look at www.models.amriphoto.com there you´ll get all info how.
