Or: where on earth are all the fish?
We chose between Fiji, Wakatobi and Egypt. Why Egypt? Because it´s so close, and we spent two weeks before in the Seychelles anyway. But not everything that´s close is good. 7 dives in the highly praised red sea, but no material that´s really useable on our sensors – exept perhaps of a cheeky red lion fish. Quite a disappointment so far. We would have expected much better visibility and fish soup. Corals all the way, but despite the big efforts to save the reef – where have the fish gone? Well, perhaps it´s going to get better in the upcomming dives. Freddy – friend, travelcompanion, underwater photographer and dive instructor on the maldives (www.fredericboch.com) also lacks the big shots. So at least we know that we haven´t forgotten how to shoot underwater images. A lot of money for nothing? Let´s see... |
